ANZOS EMCR Mentoring program

In 2025 the ANZOS EMCR Steering Committee launched a mentoring program to pair higher-degree by research (HDR) students and early career researchers (ECRs) with mid-career and senior researchers and clinicians across basic science, public health and clinical streams of research. The aim of the semi-structured program is to strengthen collaboration, expand knowledge, and provide support for career growth and progression.

The initial round of the program attracted over 20 participants from around Australia and New Zealand. Mentor/mentee pairs met regularly over the year, culminating at the 2025 ASM where many had the chance to connect in-person.

The EMCR committee has re-launched the program in 2026, which has doubled in size, including over 40 participants from 18 institutions around Australia & New Zealand.

Stay tuned for more updates about the program and initiatives.
