Gabriella Heruc
A/Prof Gabriella Heruc is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with qualifications in psychology, nutrition and dietetics, and a PhD in Medicine. She has 25 years’ experience in mental health, including 20 years specialising in eating disorder treatment across inpatient, day program and outpatient settings. She is Director of the Sydney private practice Appetite for Change and Co-Director of the Eating Disorders and Nutrition Research Group at Western Sydney University.
She is on the National Eating Disorders Collaboration Steering Committee and is a past president of the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED). She contributed to the development of the Medicare eating disorder items, first-ever clinical practice standards for eating disorders, and ANZAED’s credentialing program.
Her research focuses on improving prevention and treatment of disordered eating and eating disorders, supported by major MRFF grants on nutrition messaging in schools and expanding the TrEAT Clinical Quality Registry for Eating Disorders.
