Xingxing Kong

Xingxing Kong, MD, PhD, is a Professor at Fudan University. Dr. Kong received her PhD from Peking Union Medical College. She subsequently conducted postdoctoral training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Harvard Medical School, where she was later appointed as an Instructor. She then joined the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. In 2021, Dr. Kong returned to China as a full Professor at Fudan University. Dr. Kong’s research focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, and other metabolic organs regulate glucose and lipid metabolism under physiological and pathological conditions. Her work has been published in leading international journals, including Cell, Cell Metabolism, Nature Neuroscience, JCI, PNAS, and Diabetes, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications. She is a former recipient of the NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award and currently serves as PI on key projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research and Development Program.
