ORAL PRESENTERS
PREPARE YOUR PRESENTATION
Format
Supply your slides in PowerPoint format (.ppt or .pptx), prepared in 16:9 widescreen.
If you use Apple Keynote, convert to PowerPoint before submitting.
Please prepare and deliver using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Content and Timing
Allow around 1–2 slides per minute of presentation time.
All oral presentations run strictly to time.
We strongly encourage you to use the allocated time for audience Q&A.
Slide Tips
Use 24–32pt minimum for body text, and larger for headings.
Keep to one key message per slide.
Use visuals (graphs, images, icons) instead of large blocks of text.
Use strong contrast between text and background.
Keep graphs and charts simple, and highlight key insights.
Avoid small text and cluttered visuals so everything is readable from the back of the room.
Videos, Animations and Notes
Embed all videos directly in your PowerPoint. Bring a backup copy on a USB drive.
Remove preset slide timings and automatic slide advancement.
Presenter Notes are available only in the main Plenary Room (Daintree Room). Breakout rooms have lectern laptops without Presenter View.
Onsite Delivery
Personal laptops cannot be connected at the lectern. All presentations must be uploaded via the Speaker Presentation Room.
Upload from a USB drive or external hard drive at least 2 hours before your session.
If you are presenting before morning tea on Wednesday, upload from 7:00 am on Wednesday.
Friday presenters: the room closes at 1:30 pm, so if your session starts after 3:30 pm, please upload before the room closes.
